Fierce Lion

Object of Game: To avoid being tagged by a lion

Equipment Needed: None

How the Game Is Played: The object of the game is to avoid being tagged by the lions. The last student tagged will be the winner, and his or her team will earn points. The games leader designates a “lion’s den” (any area of the playing floor) and chooses one person to be the lion and another person to be the lion tamer. (It may be best to have a leader be the lion tamer.) The lion waits in the den until the lion tamer says, “Fierce Lion, Fierce Lion, come out!” At this point, the lion may leave the cage and chases all the other students. Any student that is tagged becomes a lion for the next round. These students proceed immediately to the lion’s den. After a while, the lion tamer will say, “Lions back!” and all the lions will go back to the den and wait for the lion tamer to release them again.
