Outreach Spotlight: School Partnership Recognition

Service is one of our five core values at Crossroads; this value is often expressed through the creative ways that our church teams support their local school outside of the Kids Club program itself.

Calvary Community Church in Schaumburg had reached out in many ways over the years to serve the school where they host their Kids Club, Anne Fox. Recently they created a “Certificate of Appreciation” to the school for their partnership. Jim, one of the team members from Calvary, described how their idea came about:

Over the last 6 years we worked with the school social worker to help various families. We’ve had 2 coat and boot drives, 2 Christmas gift drives and 5 backpack drives. Over the last 2 years we’ve had a Christmas food drive. Crossroads has given us a school community in our own neighborhood to reach out to with the love of Christ. We’ve even seen a few of the Crossroads kids join our AWANA program and also our youth program.

The certificate was our way of thanking the school for hosting our club and allowing us to help needy families because of Christ’s love. Fox school even posted a picture on their Facebook page, and the school district posted the picture in their newsletter.

Thanks Calvary Community for modeling the CKC value of service and for sharing this idea with our leaders!
