The Bible

We believe that the Scriptures as contained in the Old and New Testaments are the Inspired Word of God and are the final authority for the Christian faith and practice. We strive to live out our Christian faith in light of God’s revelation in the Holy Scriptures.

We believe that there is but one living and true God and that he exists eternally as three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each equal in glory and power. This triune God created all, sustains all, and rules all.

We believe that humans possess dignity and value because they are formed in the very image of God. We will affirm this God-given dignity by respecting and caring for human life.

We believe that the first humans, Adam and Eve, sinned against God. Because of their sin, we have all inherited a sinful nature. This nature leads us to rebel against God, and we receive the penalty of this rebellion-separation from a living God.

We believe that in our natural state, we are destined for eternal separation from God and punishment in a place of unending torment.

The Savior

We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God. He is one person with both human and divine natures-fully God and fully man. Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, and died a substitutionary death—no one took his life, but he gave it freely for the sins of the world. Because of this sacrifice, humans can be made right with God and receive the gift of eternal life, which is both a new quality and length of life.

Repentance And Faith

We believe that repentance from sin and personally accepting the sacrifice of Jesus’ death in faith is the only way to be delivered from sin and its consequences and to be set free to glorify God and enjoy him forever. This repentance and faith is a gift from God and is only possible because of his immeasurable grace.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the one who brings people to repentance and faith. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all true believers. The Holy Spirit is the Counselor and Comforter of Christians and he guides us into all truth.

The Unity Of The Body

We believe the truths contained in the creed commonly known as the “Apostles’ Creed,” and we seek to promote unity among the body of Christ by accepting and loving those who both love Jesus and affirm the truths of this Creed.
