Safety and belonging are at the heart of everything we do.

Crossroads Kids Club requires that all clubs maintain a secure environment by thoroughly screening, training, and supervising team members, who are committed to being excellent role models. We welcome students from all backgrounds, encouraging a sense of community and mutual respect. With a proven track record in public schools since 1999, Crossroads Kids Club offers a valuable, supportive space for children to learn, grow, and thrive after school.

What Happens at a Kids Club?

A Kids Club typically meets for 90 minutes once per week in a safe and structured environment, which may be a gym, classroom, cafeteria, or outdoors. The program is designed to nurture positive relationships, social skills, and character development.

Here’s what a typical club looks like:

Opening Small Group

(15–20 minutes)

Children are warmly welcomed into their small group of five-to-eight peers as soon as they arrive. After checking in with their small-group leader (adult mentor), they receive a name tag and snack and engage in a fun, interactive activity. This time is crucial for building healthy relationships and setting a positive tone for the rest of the club session. The consistent group structure ensures that children feel secure and supported throughout the year.

Large Group Lesson

(15–20 minutes)

Following the opening activity, small groups gather together for a large-group lesson. This segment typically begins with a song or game, followed by an engaging, interactive Bible story—often with an object lesson—that introduces a key moral or lesson. Children are encouraged to participate through skits, songs, or motions, making the learning experience fun and memorable.

Games

(20–25 minutes)

Game time is a highlight for many kids, offering a safe, structured opportunity to practice teamwork and cooperation. Led by the games leader, children engage in fun, active games, either as one large group or in smaller groups depending on space. Small-group leaders join in, playing alongside the kids and ensuring everyone is safe and included. The emphasis is on having fun while learning valuable social skills.

Closing Small Group

(25–30 minutes)

In the final segment, children return to their small groups to discuss what they learned during the large group lesson and to apply these lessons to their own lives. This small-group time is crucial for reinforcing the day’s teaching and deepening the relationships formed in the club. The club wraps up with each small-group leader carefully releasing the children to their authorized caretaker, ensuring that everyone departs safely.

Parents Are Primary

At Crossroads Kids Club, we believe that parents play the primary role in their children’s faith formation, and we deeply value their involvement. We warmly welcome parents to visit and observe the club at any time, as we strive to create an open and supportive environment. Participation in Crossroads is always voluntary, free of charge, and no child can ever join without explicit parental permission. Your trust and partnership are essential to us, and we are committed to working alongside you to support your child’s growth and development.
