Objective:
Score goals by passing the beach ball and getting it into your team’s basket or goal without letting it touch the ground.
Materials Needed:
- One beach ball
- Two laundry baskets, boxes, or basketball hoops (as goals)
Game Setup:
- Divide students into two teams.
- Place a laundry basket, box, or basketball hoop on each side of the playing area to serve as goals for each team.
How to Play:
- The game begins with a beach ball placed in the center of the playing area.
- Teams try to score by passing the beach ball to teammates and ultimately getting it into their team’s goal (the laundry basket, box, or hoop).
- Players may pass the ball to other teammates but cannot run while holding it.
- If the ball touches the ground, possession is given to the other team.
- Teams must continue passing and working together to score without letting the beach ball fall to the ground.
- The game continues until a set number of points are reached or for a designated time period.
Pro Tips:
- Encourage gentle, controlled passes to avoid overly aggressive play.
- Make sure there is enough space between players and goals to prevent crowding and collisions.
- Use a lightweight beach ball to ensure the ball moves slowly and safely, minimizing the chance of injury.
- Monitor players to ensure they aren’t running while holding the ball and that they follow the passing rules.
