Dominos Are Easy to Knock Down, Hard to Set Up

Truth Taught:

Kind words build up; mean words tear down quickly.

Materials:

Dominos

Instructions

  1. Ask the students to set up a long chain of dominos. Once finished, push one over and watch them fall.
  2. Ask: Which was easier—setting up the dominos or knocking them down?
  3. Explain that kind words are like the dominos standing up; they take effort to say but build others up. Mean words are like knocking the dominos down—they can destroy good things quickly.
  4. Read Ephesians 4:29 and discuss the power of words.
