Hot Potato

Truth Taught:

Deal with arguments quickly, don’t hold onto them.

Materials:

A potato, music player

Instructions

  1. Have students form a circle and play “hot potato.” When the music stops, whoever has the potato goes to the middle and acts like a monkey until the next round.
  2. After several rounds, collect the potato and have everyone sit down.
  3. Ask: What was fun about this game? How does this relate to arguments?
  4. Explain that arguments are like the hot potato—you want to get rid of them quickly. Read 2 Timothy 2:23–24 and discuss how God tells us to avoid foolish arguments.
