Say and Catch

Object of the Game

To be the last player left in the circle.

Equipment Needed

A ball or a Frisbee

How to Play

  1. Have all the students stand in a circle.
  2. Choose a topic to be used during the game (for example, animals, fruits, books of the Bible, etc.).
  3. Start by tossing the ball or Frisbee to any student in the circle.
  4. The student must say something within the chosen topic before catching the ball. For example, if the topic is animals, they might say “Elephant!”
  5. If the student either catches the ball without saying something in the topic or fails to catch the ball, they are out. When a player is out, they should take a step back and sit down.
  6. The game continues with the ball being tossed to different students until only one player is left standing.

Winning

The last player left in the circle is the winner.

Pro Tips

  • To keep the game challenging, narrow the topic as the game progresses (e.g., switch from general animals to “animals that live in the water”).
  • Encourage quick thinking by speeding up the tosses as the game goes on.
  • Consider allowing students to pick the next topic when they are eliminated, keeping the game fresh and fun.
