Objective:
Be the last player standing by successfully catching and passing the ball without speaking.
Materials Needed:
- One dodgeball
Game Setup:
- Have all students form a large circle.
- Players must remain silent throughout the game.
How to Play:
- Players pass the ball to any other player of their choice, aiming for a successful catch.
- If a player fails to catch the ball or drops it after catching it, they are out and must sit down where they were standing.
- If the player throwing the ball makes a poor throw (e.g., too short, over the head, or out of reach), the thrower is out and must sit down.
- The game continues until only one player remains standing, and they are declared the winner.
- Variation: Players can spread out in a larger area instead of standing in a circle. However, no player is allowed to move from their spot when catching or passing the ball.
Pro Tips:
- Use a lightweight ball, such as a soft dodgeball, to minimize the risk of injury during fast passes or dropped catches.
- Ensure the playing area is large enough for students to stand or spread out comfortably without risk of colliding.
- Encourage students to be careful and accurate when throwing to prevent overly aggressive or difficult throws.
- Emphasize the “silent” rule to avoid distractions and maintain focus during the game.
- Consider modifying the rules slightly for younger players, such as allowing a second chance on dropped catches.
