Sin Spoils

Truth Taught:

Even a little sin ruins what is good and separates us from God.

Materials:

Slices of bread, green food coloring

Instructions

  1. Before the lesson, place green food coloring on a few slices of bread. Allow the color to seep in, resembling mold.
  2. In front of the students, pretend to make a sandwich with the bread. Express disgust when you discover the “moldy” slices.
  3. Explain: This is like sin. Just as the mold ruins an otherwise good sandwich, even a small amount of sin damages our lives and separates us from God.
  4. Define sin for the students, making it clear that sin is disobeying God and missing His perfect standard for our lives.
